When you are in middle school or high school, your first inclination isn’t to walk up to a complete stranger and ask them questions about their life. Honestly, even as adults we don’t feel a sense of obligation to ask anything deeper than “how are you?” to strangers we interact with in our day-to-day schedule.
This week, we challenged our norm.
Everyday we have walked out into the community in prayer and with the expectation that God would bring people with whom we can share the Gospel. Through their boldness and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, these students have: prayed over Muslim bakers, sat in the homes of refugees, and laughed with children attending vacation bible school.
Here are a few words from the bold:
“It is so much easier than I thought to just walk up and talk to people. It was a bonding experience getting to share the Gospel and evangelize with my friends.”
-Lizza, 14
“It’s awesome that we get to know people and that we can relate to their problems even though we are different.”
-Karis, 14
“God shared His light through us to people. This is something I want to experience more often.”
-Peityn, 13
“It’s cool seeing how bold everyone on the team has been. We have gotten out of our comfort zone.”
-Cori, 18
“When you just approach people and share the Bible people might not receive that but it is cool seeing that people are open to hearing God’s story through my story.”
-Olivia, 13
“It has been awesome getting so much training on how to share my faith. Now I know at least three different ways to share the Gospel with people.”
-Kate, 12
Jesus told us that this is why He was sent: to share the Good News with those who have not heard. When we step out in faith we get to share in the same mission as Jesus. These teens have heard the vision and have chosen to follow in the footsteps of their Savior. They are on mission to reach this world. They are young but they are bold and in that, they are blessed.
